3. JAMES
JAMES AND HIS BROTHER JOHN WERE
THE SONS OF A MAN NAMED ZEBEDEE. JAMES AND JOHN WERE ALSO
FISHING PARTNERS WITH THE BROTHERS
PETER AND ANDREW. JESUS NAMED JAMES AND JOHN "THE SONS OF THUNDER" IT IS
INTERESTING THAT THE FIRST FOUR APOSTLES WERE TWO SETS OF BROTHERS, AND
WERE KNOWN TO EACH OTHER AS FRIENDS AND BUSINESS PARTNERS IN FISHING. THESE
FOUR INDIVIDUALS HELD AN IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS, ESPECIALLY
JAMES, JOHN AND PETER WHO WITNESSED THE TRANSFIGURATION AND WERE PRESENT
AT NUMEROUS EVENTS CONCERNING CRUCIAL MOMENTS IN THE LIFE AND WORKS OF
JESUS. JAMES AND JOHN ALSO HAD COMMITTED CERTAIN ACTS IN WHICH THE OTHER
APOSTLES DISPROVED SUCH AS REQUESTING A SPECIAL POSITION OF HONOR FOR THE
TIME OF CHRIST'S GLORY. JAMES WAS PUT TO DEATH WITH THE SWORD BY THE ORDER
OF HEROD AGRIPPA OF JUDEA ABOUT 44 A.D. ACTS 12;2

unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make
here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

7 And when ye shall hear of

divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings
of sorrows.
