ANDREW WAS A RESIDENT OF THE CITIES BETHSAIDA & CAPERNAUM AND ALONG WITH HIS BROTHER PETER, WAS A FISHERMAN BY TRADE. ANDREW WAS A DISCIPLE OF JOHN THE BAPTIST AND BECAUSE OF JOHN THE BAPTIST'S WITNESS CONCERNING JESUS AS THE MESSIAH. ANDREW BEING CONVINCED THAT JESUS WAS THE MESSIAH, IT WAS ANDREW WHOM INTRODUCED HIS BROTHER PETER TO JESUS. ANDREW WAS PRESENT AT NUMEROUS TIMES WITH JESUS INCLUDING THE FEEDING OF THE 5,000 AND THE LAST SUPPER. ANDREW IS MENTIONED FOR THE LAST TIME IN ACTS 1;13  ACCORDING TO TRADITION ANDREW WAS MARTYRED AT PATRAE IN ACHAIA BY CRUCIFIXION ON A X-SHAPED CROSS.

12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.
